Lake Champlain (French: lac Champlain) is the sixth largest fresh water lake in the
United States, located mainly within the borders of the United States (states
of Vermont and New York) but partially situated across the US-Canada border
in the Canadian province of Quebec.
The Lake Champlain
House is located on the peninsula known as Point Au Fer, which is on the New
York shore of Lake Champlain. It is an quick, easy drive to Montreal, the
Adirondacks/Lake Placid, and Burlington, Vermont.
Lake Champlain is approximately 1130 kmē (435 square
miles) in area, the lake is roughly 180 km (110 miles) long, and 19 km (12 miles)
across at its widest point. The maximum depth is approximately 400 feet. The
lake varies seasonally from about 95 to 100 feet above mean sea level. The closest boat launch and boat rentals are shown below.

from exit ramp turn right onto US-11 heading East/North toward Rouses
Point/Vermont. -Turn RIGHT
(approx. 4.1 miles) onto Lake St which becomes NY-9B. Continue to follow
NY-9B. -Turn LEFT
(approx. 2.1 miles) onto POINT AU FER RD. -Turn RIGHT
(approx. 1.5 miles) onto LAKE LAND DR. 40 Lake Land Drive on the Right. Directions from the South,
Vermont. -From I-89 going
North in Vermont. -Take EXIT 21:
from exit ramp Turn LEFT onto 1ST ST/ VT-78 toward US-7/ SWANTON. -Turn RIGHT onto
GRAND AVE/ US-7/ VT-78. -Turn LEFT onto
MERCHANTS ROW/ VT-78. Continue to follow VT-78. -Turn RIGHT onto
N RIVER ST/ VT-78. Continue to follow VT-78. -Turn RIGHT
(approx. 9.9 miles) onto US-2 S/ THEODORE ROOSEVELT HWY. Continue to follow
US-2 S (Crossing into NEW YORK). -Turn LEFT
(approx. 8.9 miles) onto LAKE ST/ US-11. This becomes NY-9B. Be sure to go
straight ((do not turn right onto Route 11 heading West)) and continue to
follow Lake St. and signs for NY-9B. -Turn LEFT
(approx. 4.8 miles) onto POINT AU FER RD. -Turn RIGHT (approx.
